After giving birth to my daughter Emma nearly eight months ago, I found myself struggling with a loss of confidence in various aspects of my life. I've always struggled with social anxiety and worrying about what I will talk about with people and Emma has definitely filled that gap. (I've never talked about someone's poop, sick and sleep so much in my life!) However, all of that changed when I mustered up the courage to start my Body Spirit dance fitness class. The experience was nothing short of incredible, and it not only rejuvenated my body but also helped me regain a piece of myself that I had lost.
Stepping Out of the Car:
As I parked my car outside the dance studio, I could feel my nerves building up. It had been a while since I had engaged in any form of exercise! I almost felt like I could barely walk as I made my way towards the entrance. However, deep down, I knew that I needed to push past my fears and smash the class.
The Energy in the Room:
As soon as I stepped into The Studio in Desford, I was greeted by an incredible energy that permeated the building. The atmosphere was electric, and it instantly put me at ease. The people around me were friendly and welcoming, which helped to alleviate my initial apprehension. We were all connected by a shared desire to be ourselves and have a great time while doing it.
The class itself was a revelation. The combination of dance, fitness, and positivity created a unique experience that left me feeling invigorated and alive. As I moved my body to the rhythm of the music, I could feel my confidence growing with each step. It was a liberating feeling to let go of my inhibitions and just enjoy the moment. By the end of the class, I was drenched in sweat, but I had a smile on my face that I hadn't seen in months.
The Ripple Effect:
The positive energy I experienced during the class seemed to have a ripple effect on my life. As I walked with Emma today, people came to have conversations with me. These interactions were filled with warmth and kindness, and I couldn't help but attribute it to the energy I was radiating. It reminded me of the power of our subconscious energy and how it can influence the connections we make with others.
Starting the Body Spirit dance fitness class will hopefully be a turning point for me. It has not only started helping me regain my physical strength but also allowing me to reconnect with a part of myself that I had lost. The positive energy in the room and of the people around me created an environment where I could let go of my insecurities and embrace my true self. It reminded me of the importance of energy and how it can impact our interactions with others. So, if you're feeling nervous or lacking confidence, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and explore activities that can help you rediscover your own inner strength. You never know what positive changes may come your way.
